Dragon Baseball had a shining moment on Wednesday evening when they finally got to open their series on the road against Eaton. Weather had postponed the originally scheduled Tuesday start.

Junior Jack Fuller made his return to the mound after missing one start due to an injury. And in the process earned a new nickname. Fuller was dominate from the Eaton hill on Wednesday going six shut out innings, striking out three and baffling the Eagles all night long. His array of pitches kept them off balance and befuddled at the plate. So much so that in the 5th inning people started glancing toward the Eaton scoreboard. You could hear the whispers - wait a minute has Eaton had any hits yet? No, I think that's a zero out there. Oh my gosh I think he is throwing a no-hitter.

Carroll's offense had provided Fuller a run in the 3rd inning on a lead off double by Anthony Llera, a sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly by Ashton Ybarra for his 10th RBI on the year. Larry Vucan small ball at its finest. One hit turns into one run and Jack and the pitching staff would take care of the rest. Notice I said pitching staff because after the 6th everybody is ready to watch a date with destiny but wait a minute, what is this? Tanner Carson is striding in from the bullpen to take the mound. Coach Vucan is going to his closer! No worries, Carson was his normal spotless self on the mound as he finished the inning with a strikeout working around a one out walk. The combined NO HITTER was Carroll's third this season. Davis Perkins threw one at the Georgetown tournament and Ethan Baiotto twirled one as part of the Highland Park Tournament. It is very extraordinary for a team to have three no hitters in one season.

And remember the part where I said Jack earned a new nickname? Henceforth he shall forever be known as The Pirate because he threw six innings of no hit baseball while wearing an eye patch. WOW!!! That is a feat I have never seen in baseball before.

With the win Jack improves to 4-2 on the mound and Tanner Carson earns his 3rd save and is a perfect 3-3 in save opportunities. And most importantly Carroll is back over .500 in district play at 4-3 and right in the title fight in a very jam packed district 4-6A. The Eaton series concludes at home on Friday, April 12th.
