When you are in a tightly packed district race like Lady Dragon Soccer is half way through district play every win becomes critical.

Despite a stellar overall record of 15-1-2 and district record of 6-1-1 the Lady Dragons entered play tonight against an always tough Lady Indian team from Keller tied for 2nd in 5-6A play. They made quick work of the Indians after a scoreless first 20 minutes. It was Madi Drenowatz getting LDS on the board first with an assist from Taylor Tufts. Then the two swapped roles for goal #2 and Drenowatz had the assist on the Tufts goal. The 3rd goal belonged to Drenowatz, again with her 2nd of the night then the Tufts and Drenowatz show continued as Tufts got her 2nd before Keller converted what would turn out to a meaningless PK, if there ever is such a thing. Then Sarah Hornyak concluded the evening with the Lady Dragons 5th goal.

In a series that is usually packed with drama the Lady Dragons buried the Lady Indians under an avalanche of goals tonight. They have outscored the Lady Indians 8-1 in their two regular season meetings.

The team has lived by the motto "200 feet" this season but the next 200 could be important. The Lady Dragons will face 1st place Denton Guyer at home on Tuesday, Feb. 26th at 7:30pm.
