Normally in a softball game you want scoring spread out in all 7 innings. But when you score eight runs they can all be in one inning and you can pick up your 16th victory on the year. Such was the case for @dragsoftball tonight as they rolled over Byron Nelson with a 8-1 win.

The monster 2nd inning was lead by a solo homer for Katie Gee. The scoring onslaught was just beginning. The Lady Dragons loaded the bases, setting the table for Gaby Garcia's three run bases clearing triple. Four runs would be nice for an inning right? Nah, said the Lady Dragons. We'll just go ahead and score four more in this inning and call that an offensive evening. In the inning, in addition to Garcia's triple there was a double, a single, 4 walks and another triple. Talk about "covering the bases!!"

The beneficiary of all this run support was Allie Nuenke who picked up the win in the circle throwing a complete game while shutting down the Bobcat offense on just two hits.

The win was SLC's 4th straight in district play to run their record to 4-1 and 16-5 overall.

Up next the team comes home for a very special evening "Strike out Cancer" night on Friday, March 23rd when they take on LD Bell at 7pm. All the proceeds will be donated to the Liles family, who has been waging a fight with cancer. Coach Charlie Liles and his wife Cheryl help lead our Lady Dragon Softball squad.
