After seeing their first chance to wrap up the district 5-6A title slip away last Friday night, the Lady Dragons headed to Byron Nelson with a second chance to wrap up district and did not let it slip. After a scoreless first half in which the Lady Dragons had to adjust their offense, they finally capitalized on a free kick by the OU bound Taylor Tufts. This gave them a 1-0 lead just 34 seconds after intermission.

SLC, 16-1-2 and 11-0-1 in district play would add a helper to salt the game away midway through the final stanza on a goal by Sarah Hornyak.

The 2-0 victory accomplished several milestones! First the clean sheet gave junior Goal Keeper Madi Martin the school's all time career shutout mark with 41 and she still has one season and two regular season games remaining, plus this year's post season.

The District Title was the 3rd consecutive for the program and head man Matt Colvin's 10th career district title in 17 seasons wearing green and white!

With all these milestones behind them most programs would be content to call it a regular season. SLC still has 2 remaining matches. Friday, March 9th is the last home game and will be celebrated by honoring this year's seniors. Also it is Community Night and all kids wearing soccer gear get in free!!
