Lady Dragon Softball seems to be enjoying their new field play surface, sweeping day 2 of the Turf Wars Tournament at SLC on Friday afternoon.

Game 1 of the double header turned the Lady Dragon's way on one gigantic inning. SLC scored 9 runs with just one extra base hit. Chasing four runs and down to their last nine outs, the Lady Dragons scored all nine of their runs in the 5th inning. Riley Carter, Abby Stuart and Avery Zeigler all had multiple hit days. The win went to Allie Nuenke in the circle in the 9-4 victory over the Sandies from Amarillo.

Fresh off their gigantic nine run 5th SLC took the field again and decided, man that come back thing was fun, let's do it again. Stop me if you have heard this before, but the ladies were trailing, this time 2-1 entering the 5th inning and down to their last nine outs. Deja vu anyone? With the lead now cut in half the Lady Dragons needed more runs. They would get all they would need in the 6th on a 3 run double by Gaby Garcia. The pendulum swung for good and Allie Nuenke picked up her second win on the day in relief of Lauren Long.

The 5-2 victory over V.R. Eaton sets the stage for the team to go for the tournament sweep in the final day of Turf Wars which is already underway in a game vs. Denton Guyer. They will play Frisco Reedy at 5pm in the final game of this tourney.
